So I changed the port until hex can fix it.

Don't save it, it should change back eventually.

Is there anything that causes this? I had it happen on a server once, and had no idea what the problem was.....

What won't work? You need to be specific with these things.

1 of my servers I run on both my com and my dad's, but when I try to run it, says "Failed to bind to port! Perhaps a server is already running on the same port?"
But I know it's not running on my dad's computer, so what am I doing wrong? The ip and port number are changed, and it isn't working...

I had that problem alot of the time. i got around it by changing the port i was running my server through. Then I found out it was because I had a java process that was still running from when I crashed my server beforehand, and that process was still using that port I think, because for some reason, my laptop assumed that the crashed server was still running... Not entirely sure, but I just force quit that java process, and I was able to use the port of my choice again.
Take a look in task manager if on windows. I have OSX so activity monitor for me :)
