Any attempts at installing the mod onto my computer will go smoothly until I try to launch the mod, it crashes while initializing, any idea why?

Yeah that kept happening to me. All I did was wipe my .minecraft file, keeping my saves and whatnot, and on a clean file it worked fine.

i need help trying to install forge. I have the WinRAR downloaded and put in it's proper place but forge it not working. everything is in the right folders. can someone please help me

Don't open it with winRAR. Right click and go open with, then select java and it will self install for you by making sure it is on install client.
