I'm not saying that the World Cup will help with poverty at all. But if Brazil's stupid leader wanted to have the World Cup so badly, he/she should have thought more. But I think of the World Cup as kind of a loan. All the tourists combined with the stadiums uses afterwards can get money back. I just feel as if Brazil wanted to have home-ground so it could win easier in the World Cup. And if they won, they can get lots of bragging rights with all the European countries. I just feel it is more of a publicity stunt more than ever. And I feel Brazil shouldn't try to kick people out of their homes, but it is just life. For example, the United States wants the Olympics held in New York City. Just imagine how many people would need to be kicked out of their homes, and how many people would end up homeless.Near I live, back long ago, they kicked people out from their houses in order to make many water-ways.
I personally didn't know about all the poverty there, and I don't agree with it either, but if Brazil's leader wanted to do that, so be it. We can't change it especially since all the arenas have been built and are being used. We can't give those people back their homes. "It is what it is." I know I wouldn't like to be in that position, but we can't really do anything to help. We can protest all we like, but not much would come against us with Brazil.
