The Pokemon Center and Mart are off scale, make it 8x6, rather than 10x8.
Doors are also 1x2.
The house just looks bland. Maybe add another type of plank for those two things that look like pillars.
The roof looks more of a light brown than orange in game.
And maybe make it a bit taller?

Why do you want to build?: Mostly because Emerald was my favorite game and i would love helping it out.
I hope this is good enough. 
I'll do the left building first, then the right.
I'd suggest using obsidian rather than black wool, to give it that stony look (If that's even a word).
You don't have to limit it to keeping it rectangular, you can always get rid of the corners to give the walls a more diagonal look.
Maybe add pillars instead of keeping the wool/obsidian inside the walls.

This looks a little more plain than it already is in game, probably because you have so little blocks to work with.
Maybe add pillars or something to the front, to make the part around the door pop out.
I'd also suggest adding slabs to the rooftop, so that part on the roof could pop out.

Why do you want to build?: I figure it would be a much better use of my time.
I'd suggest making the center and the mart one block taller, and the houses a few more blocks taller, to give it a cube look.
I'd also suggest making the roofs more triangular, and have it not stop at the back of the house.
