My ships

As many of you may know, I've decided to attempt to build all the ships from Pirates of the Caribbean.
I thought I should make a thread to show my progress.
I've built many practice ships but have only a few of the new and better design. This is the HMS Providence from movie 4. I spent hours doing research into how these ships look and their dimensions and this a 1:1 replica of the ship.

I would love comments on ways to improve it as I am trying to make it as accurate as possible.

I'm thinking of putting it on planet minecraft in the projects section.


btw for people who are wondering, it is a British Royal Navy ship (obvious with the 'HMS') and it is a 36 canon, flush deck frigate. It's also my favourite ship from the series. I'm considering doing the HMS Dauntless next. The Royal Navy is my favourite

Yeah the majority of my time on minecraft during my Internet failure was working on these ships. I have six other practice ships that I built before hand but they are all terrible and I'm re-doing them :P

Arrrrr well once I finish some of the Royal Navy ships I'm going to build the pirate ships and then we all can have a battle on a server
My next navy ship will be the HMS Dauntless which is a first-rate ship of the line with 100 canons (realistic) so that'll be interesting.

Yeah that would be fun. Everyone seems to be making videos on youtube of that map, even yogscast. My ships are only loaded with fire charges (possibly wither heads in future) because dispenser canons are better for aesthetics.

Yeah, you're not building for any practical use. But I'm sure a simple conversion could make into a fun game

Well actually it is fully functional and canons with fire charges are actually pretty good weapons. They are probably closer related to realistic canons than TNT but don't give as much boom. It depends if you want a longer or shorter battle.
I was actually planning of installing the zepelin mod and sail the ship around :P
