Problem is, we don't know how big it needs to be until the extremes of the maps are reached. For all we know right now, that little path could be inside of the maps when they're fully built.

Compared to how far we've expanded our boundary now (outdated render from a few days after the expansion that tripled our size)
He didn't go that far out when you look at how we're allowed now. I can't predict how far to make a boundary if I don't know the extremes of it.
Course, our Kanto-Johto map is so huge now I can't render it, the mapping program breaks and dies.
