'Easy peasy, lemon squezy.' -The words Gray used to explain how his fight with the Cerulean leader would be.
As the trio entered the gym they were greeted by Slime, the front door guy. After being questioned by Tene about how he managed to be at every gym in Kanto he started explaining about his new teleportation invention and something about offering them a share in the discovery. A lot of the answer wasn't heard as Gray pushed them along.
This gym was different from Pewter. Instead of creepy miners in the background there were people in swimsuits and bikinis. Generally this would intrigue Gray in some weird 10-year-old way but he was too one-minded on the gym fight to come.
The trio worked together to lay waste to the trainers' Pokemon (even the OP shelder one), the last guy crawling up to the leaders' podium to warn him.
The leader revealed himself to be Ichikunji.
"Well, Icky-coon-guy, or whatever it is, prepare for the battle of your life," Gray yelled.
Despite the fact that anyone would want someone that acted like that to loose painfully in a pit of resent, Gray managed to win. It was a hard battle, definitely not lemon squezy, with him only just gaining victory.
First he had to face Ichis' staryu which he managed to beat fairly easy with Butterfry's sleep powder. Then he sent out his Starmi which took out Butterfry with one rapid spin. Then next ten minutes consisted of Starmi and Wartortle having an epic pool fight, spraying water into everyone's eyes. In the end Wartortle was the winner.
Next Tene fought and crushed the leaders' team with moderate ease, using Eevee.
Third and final, it was Yob's turn.
"Go Paras!"
"Staryu go! Loose again and you won't get pool fun time."
Paras tried to get a stun spore in but Staryu dodged and delivered a powerful water gun. After recovering Paras managed to get a scratch on Staryu's face/gem thingy. This didn't seem to affect Staryu too much, who then gave another water gun, actually knocking Paras out, despite the type disadvantage.
"It's ok Paras, you did moderately adequate," Yob spoke while giving its shrooms a lick and returning it," Time to shine Clefairy!"
Clefairy started out by tackling the staryu. Like Paras, it didn't have many moves due to its low level.
Repeated tackles went by when Staryu was eventually knocked out.
Next came Starmi, pumped for battle and not ready to give up pool fun time.
It blasted a powerful water gun right into Clefairy's face, KOing it immediately.
"Bulbasaur, you're my only hope..."
Bulbasaur came out. Starmi hit her with a rapid spin attack. Bulbasaur responded with vine whip, rapping around the starmi, preventing it from moving. It then used razor leaf for as long as it could. The starmi started to weaken but then used rapid spin, cutting Bulbasaur's vines to bits. A water gun was what it used next, leaving Bulbasaur on the ground panting with near defeat.
Yob tried encouraging it by saying of its strength at heart but it wasn't until he promised a poffin to the victor that he got up.
The offer must have been very motivational as it started to evolve, transforming in Ivysaur.
Yob was crying with joy, so much that the pool nearly started overflowing.
Ivysaur let loose a powerful razor leaf, followed by a vine whip. No matter what Starmi countered with, it was trumped. Ivysaur let loose one last razor leaf, knocking Starmi out and wining the battle.
All our heroes were overjoyed at their respective victories and accepted the Cascade Badge.
Gray started talking about how easy the gym was as if he didn't think Ichi couldn't hear.
The trio left the gym and continued on their Pokemon journey.
So sorry for how long this has been. I've been so busy lately. In two weeks I'll be updating much more frequently, nearly everyday again.
Ichikunji was an old Cerulean leader, more from my time. Anon and Shish will be coming in later in Hoenn.
