Another reason to go to Australia: Almost all wildlife CAN and WILL kill you.  For example, the box jellyfish.  It's a small jellyfish, but its poison is 100 times stronger than a cobra's poison.  And the taipan, which has some of the most toxic venom in the world.  Then there's the stonefish, whose poison causes paralysis and tissue death.  These are disguised as rocks near reefs.  And don't forget the drop bears.  Those things are evil.  But don't worry! Australia is fun! Just don't go without doing your research and don't touch any rocks at the Great Barrier reef.

Taipan? Pffft. That's hardly the deadliest snake in Australia.

The multiple types of brown snakes are worse.

The irukandji jellyfish isn't as deadly as the box jellyfish.  The box jellyfish could kill you before you reach the shore.  The irukandji jellyfish causes many symptoms but death usually isn't one.  And unless you get antivenom, taipan bites are nearly always fatal.  But brown snakes are extremely scary too.  I wouldn't want to go near any of your snakes, poisonous or not.  Snakes in South Carolina are nothing compared to any Australian snake.  Even the coral snake with deadly neurotoxic venom doesn't scare me as much as the things that live in Australia.
Here are some pictures of some of the snakes we have in South Carolina:

Also, Irukandji are tiny and when they sting you, you usually don't take notice for a while.

One of the most deadliest creatures though, is the blue ringed octopus. This is due to its small size, and when they attach to you, they release a chemical which makes you sleepy. Now just say you are a child at the beach with your mother, then a small blue ringed octopus attaches itself to you whilst at the rock pools, you return to mum all tired and she just takes it as you are sleepy. I have a friend who was lucky and spotted the small creature after this story, otherwise, you know... :pale:

We had redbacks in our garage, when I lived with my parents. I watched it kill a lizard. It had little babies too ^_^
