So I always hear people say "I think I've been here for two years" even though they weren't even here before Johto was done (What?). So I decided to do a small amount of research and here's what I found from what were the big events going on two years ago...
May-July 2011 (A little more than 2 years ago):
The Kanto map was just finished
First gymleader was assigned
The first pokemart was isntalled (We didn't have players owning them, they were just signs with buy signs and you could buy infintie amount of w/e items as long as you could pay)
We outlawed mobspawners
We hit the huge number of 15 people on our server at once, the most we'd ever seen.

August 2011 (2 years ago):
Rigby wasn't an admin, he was a gymleaders
We didn't have our own forums but we were thinking of making one
A message board for public use was just created at Mt. Moon
Our server hoster was Quadfiber and you got 1k for liking them
Alexthegreet and ish were voted to be admins
There was no such thing as admin meetings
A new trend emerged of dragon eggs in forum signatures (That went on for way too long)
Windows accidentally erased all server files
The great wizard duel fo ish vs. 1ce. vs. Paradox
The fighting of the 100th page first post on the minecraft forums (That was terrible...)
Windows leaves admin
Nightroado leaves admin
Paradox was still the only one who was allowed to assign gymleaders (Yep, no other admin was allowed. Oh Arceus why did I put myself through that)We still had spells (RIP)/ 1ce makes easter eggs around the map for free spellsWe make the first requirements for gymleaders and make a rule saying no gymleader can edit their gym without permissionVideo I found:

Rule is made preventing the ownership of two houses (You could buy as many houses as you wanted before this. We don't like to talk about those times)

There was a lot more in September, that was only the first half but I got bored of sifting through pages. Hope this puts some stuff in perspective. Maybe this will help you realize how long you've been here.
