Donator Prefixes

So here's an idea I got from someone on the server earlier today.


As of current, the five donor ranks and prefixes are:
Pokefan [Pokefan]
Cooltrainer [CoolTrainer]
Pokemaniac [PokeManiac]
Dragontamer [DragonTamer]
Gamefreak [Gamefreak]
Each successive donor rank inherits the previous ones.




My suggestion is have a multitude of different ranks (maybe two or three) for each rank, but these would have a different prefix.
Therefore, it'd be possible to have Pokefan, Youngster (inheriting Pokefan) and perhaps another different prefix.


This wouldn't put too much of a load on the permissions file, certainly no more than there currently is.


The reasoning behind the idea: Some people just want to be a [Youngster] and they would like to donate, but don't want [Pokefan]. It may seem like a silly reason, but its also another incentive to donate if they have a choice of what Prefix to choose from. Each donor rank would keep their colours, but there'd be a variety of names.


To stop players changing prefixes all the time, when they are promoted initially, they can choose what title they get. If/When they are demoted from GymLeader/Elite they once again have the choice of a new title. This is to ensure there aren't constant requests to be put in a group with a different title. Another option would be similar to /pokenick and would allow trainers to change their prefix at will, to one of the predefined ones, but at a cost per command use.


Just an idea here, people tell me what you think, I'm sure many of you would like a change from CoolTrainer or DragonTamer to some other fancy name.

I like the Idea. But what about the people who already donated?

I think it's a good idea and not too confusing as they keep their colors, but what if a gamefreak wants fly, but also a dragontamer prefix? Would it be backwards compatable?

They can choose one of the new predefined prefixes if they wish, and then they'd have to wait for demotion from Leader/Elite or pay a possible fee (if this happens)

We wouldn't allow overlapping prefix names.

GameFreak could get say, [GameFreak] (default), [Nintendo], [RichKid] but not [DragonTamer] or [CoolTrainer]
DragonTamer could get; [DragonTamer] (default), [FireBreather], [Hiker] but not [GameFreak] or [PokeFan]


I'm sure people can pitch in ideas, and there'd be a vote to choose 2 or 3 alternative names for each donator rank and these would be set.

I think this is a good idea. Perhaps some of them could be non-donator but require something else, for example Richboy would be to have 50k, or for Tamer or breeder to (Kind of obviously) have a certain number of pets, and a veteran to have been playing for atleast a year.


If I could pick any, I'd pick Gambler/Gamer/PI (Whatever you want to call it), cause the coin flipping thing makes me look snazzy :3

Pets can die, that rank would be hard to track.
Half the players we have don't even know when they started. One year is hardly a veteran, I would say at least joined before August 2011.

Which is why such a prefix for 'oldies' is stupid. Veterans are the old players, those who joined a long time ago.

I think it's a good idea, but some of these would look weird with the colors the rank already has.  Firebreather doesn't fit with the blue and orange dragontamer rank because it's fire.  I'd think that it would be more like [Fire Breather] instead of [Fire Breather].  It's not a big deal but it's just that some of the rank colors don't really match with the names.
