As of this moment I dont understand how the Elite 4 works, is it similar to the PvP Server where the first to challenge get's champ and so on?

I think I've already mentioned this, but you could do it like they do in the pokemon anime where there is a tournament that happens every so often. They get the challenge the Elite four. This way the Elite four isn't always changing.

I like the idea, but considering the ease of getting badges and the potential size of our population, those could get enormous.

The time has definitely come. More people than the E4 and champion can have have earned all 8 badges and are waiting for the E4 to happen (including me). Also, in the anime, the tournament was FUCKING enormous.
