/back or keeping stuff
« on: August 24, 2013, 06:07:57 pm »
Today I was flying through the areas between the regions, looking for pokemon to beat, exploring the world, etc.  I saw a pokemon that caught my eye so I decided to see it.  Instead of pressing the "c" button which makes your pokemon descend, I pressed left shift and I fell to my death. I had 2 masterballs, 7 pokeballs, running shoes, a leather cap, and a super rod.  I didn't know exactly where I was, so I couldn't get my stuff back.  The admins probably won't refund my stuff but I want others to avoid the fate that I had.  I suggest that we should have /back or we can keep our inventory after we die.  Thank you for listening.

I think 1ce mentioned that the admins were thinking of adding /back because it gives no pvp advantage here.

I havent heard about 1ce adding /back but I wouldn't be against it. As for an item refund I have to say no because it was your own fault for pressing the wrong button and falling to your death and lose your items.
Just like if you fall off a cliff on the pvp server and fall to your death we wont refund because its your responsibility to not die or store your good items in an enderchest.

I don't think this would help but I died because of a glitch.  When I dismounted, I was close enough to the ground not to die, but since I landed on the back of my pokemon, I fell down a few times (I guess it was nocheatplus thinking I was falling).  It was about 15 blocks above the ground but I just fell and fell.  It was my responsibility that I fell but it's not my fault that I died.  If that glitch didn't happen, I would have landed safely and survived.

For future reference, call your Pokémon back, don't just hop off.

The only issue with /back is its almost like setting another home. You can easily be out in some random are of the map, Pokémon have fainted, use /spawn and walk to the nearest Pokémon Centre, then use /back to get back to that random area, with fully healed Pokémon, if they faint again, just /back to get to the Centre, and /back to go back to random location.

I'm against /back.

I agree with Tene. If you die, you're responsible for your own death.

And if back isn't an option, maybe we could just keep our inventory when we die?

Sorry for posting so much on here but I lost my super rod during that and I can't replace it. The next time an admin is on when I'm on, could you give me a super rod?  I tried getting another one by pushing the button but it won't let me.

So it's my fault that I died from a glitch I didn't know about before that... makes perfect sense.

this isn't a glitch. pressing left shift dismounts you off your pokemon.

I wasn't saying that pressing left shift was a glitch. Did you read all of reply #3? I said that when I dismounted, I landed on Aerodactyl's back.  That made nocheat or something think I was flying so it put my back in the place I was before I "flew".  It forced me to fall multiple times, killing me.

As I saw someone else post, you're responsible for your death, no matter how it happens. You should realise Pixelmon is still an incredibly buggy mod, and learn to live around that.

Tene, you should also be a reliable server. If something happens to my items, the ones in question that are also donated to actually acquire (masterball). I need to know and be assured that the items can and will be retrieved.
