I got Mirror's Edge, Skyrim (for really cheap, around $15-$20, I forgot), Borderlands 2, and Don't Starve.  I still have some money left, so I'll buy more.

I'm waiting for borderlands and skyrim to drop a little bit lower. They're at their summer sale price atm. Is Don't Starve and Mirror's Edge worth it though?

I haven't played any of them yet but my friends really liked Mirror's Edge and Don't Starve.

Probably because he's missing the excecutables. It happened to me with Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Phantoms.

So ive wanted steam for a while, but do the games generally work for a mac too? Or is it a PC exclusive thing? Also, where can I pick up gift cards for steam?

The steam summer is over, btw.  There are a lot of good games, and get a few of the Valve games.  If you're using a mac for gaming, I feel bad for you.  Most games are pc only.  There are a few games that are mac compatible, but there are 4-5x more pc games than there are mac games.
