Donator Prefix Idea

By the looks of the name, this idea may look similar to tene's idea of changing the prefix. In a way, it is. I have an idea for something I think a good amount of the donators would enjoy.


For the different donator ranks, there would be a command. There would be multiple different commands for the individual ranks. Since I have yet to explain the idea fully, allow me to do so, The idea is that you can use a command as a donator and it will change the color of your prefix. Of course, it would not be free, Maybe like 2.5k or something like that. The different colors would have to fit in with the theme of the prefix though, not just some random colors. The colors would also be preset, the players wouldn't be setting them themselves.


For PokeFan, maybe some colors like:
[PokeFan] and
[PokeFan] and some other colors that the admin(s) decide would be nice for the rank.


For CoolTrainer, maybe something like:
[CoolTrainer] and another combo of colors


For PokeManiac, maybe something like:
[PokeManiac] and something else.


For DragonTamer,
[DragonTamer] and something else.


and for GameFreak,
[GameFreak] and some others.

You wouldn't necessarily have to add groups, just change the prefix. I know pex has a command where you can keep a player in a group and change the prefix. pretty sure it's /pex user <user> prefix set <prefix>.

Then they'll never be any other rank ever again. Once a prefix is set in PEX, it's there to stay until its manually removed from the file, or the player's PEX data is deleted.

Could make a /command &player %group that auto-clears their file first then runs the pex group set command. It'll mess with user-specific permissions of course, but how many players actually have those for a good reason...

The colours define what level of donator a person is. Though you could see what level a normal user was by the 'PokeFan' or 'CoolTrainer' label, if the user was a gym leader and only had the colours to go by, you'd have no way of telling how big of a donator they were.

Some things I would consider is higher donor ranks would be able to set custom prefixes, or be able to choose from a list of preset colour schemes.

Of course, what Shark said is one of the main things against alternate colours. Colours may change later, we can vote for that when the time comes.

So because there is a 2 year old standard color scheme, we cannot change that standard. That just sounds lazy to me.
