Server Revamp!

Hello everyone,


We are looking bring life back to the server.  We are creating lists to bring up at the Community Admin Meetings.


We are trying to bring people back onto our server that we have worked so hard to build.


To be able to do that we need your help.


Please post ideas that you think would be great to have on the server.


Below are a list of some of the current ideas.

- Pre-made factions. (ex. Team Rocket, Team Magma, etc.)


- Breeder Class (Horses, Wolves, Cats, etc.)


- BerryMaster (someone that grows and sells berries)


- Stats Reset, Money, Items?


- Event masters

An event master, Create a new land and just make it for events only and make it only accessible to the builder or builders, admins, and mods. I have tons of great events to share.

Says the person banned from the build server for building phallic coal.

To be able to do that we need your help.

Someone(s) would have to work out how these would work. I'm not going to even think about anything like this at this stage

- Breeder Class (Horses, Wolves, Cats, etc.)
What exactly would these do?

- BerryMaster (someone that grows and sells berries)
You can't just grow berries, they'll drop from any tree

- Stats Reset, Money, Items?
You'll hear anything about this closer to the map release

- Event masters
What would they do?

Okay Tene, I figured a post like this was coming so I prepared myself!




1. The Factions thing is easily implemented we can talk more about that at the next admin meeting. PvP and world events would be a major implementation.


2. Breeders would be the only people allowed to breed animals, so you would have to buy dogs Horses and things off of them.


3. BerryMaster, there is a way to stop it from allowing players to be able to get the berries from trees. Multiple plugins can stop that.


4. Stats, that needs to happen.


5. People that are mods or admin that run world events or events for the server.


Granted all of these things are still up in the air, this is just some ideas that we are going to look into hopefully. All ideas that will be brought up at the admin meetings.

You need to expand on what running an event involves

The berry master thing would be simple to add.
Block decay event:
If some rare chance:
Drop an apple:
Nearest.item.player.15:
If it.group._berry:
Set lore and crap
Else:
Despawn it or make apples more common, idc


However, it would make sense that you couldn't have more than one "class" like breeder, berrymaster, trainer. Pick a profession and stick with it for some long trial period, else the choice is meaningless.

1. I like the classes idea, but I don't see anyone committing to spending most of their time growing berries or breeding animals.
2. Wolves can be spawned with mcmmo.
3. Won't the berry masters and breeders upset the economy if they make most of the money by selling things, while Trainer doesn't?

As far as I know, there is no way to cancel breeding in moddamage. You can cancel taming, but unless there's a way I don't know about, you can't cancel breeding.

Well you can cancel the interactEntity event if youre holding an item that makes the target animal want to breed.

You can also check the Spawn event, if spawn_reason.is.BREEDING, but then there is no player involved to check the group.

My mistake, I thought I recalled dispensers or droppers being involved, but searching proved it was just a bad memory.
Excerpt removed, though the point of the post remains, I don't see any 100% reliable way to determine the party involved in breeding.

Unless... I don't recall if MD has a way to check if target.isHorny or set it to false once they're fed... I'll look at it and Bukkit later tonight

There is a way to stop breeding easy, same with the berries.


and at Donuts comment, there are people that play the server not for just the PvP. It would add more to do then just PvP. BerryMasters and Breeders would be different in a way than flat out trainers.
